Where is your focus?
The gap vs gain mentality I learned about from a book called, which I love. I often think about where I want to be etc, as opposed to how far I've come. Below is a great quote from the book.
“Your future growth and progress are now based in your understanding about the difference between the two ways in which you can measure yourself: against an ideal, which puts you in what I call ‘the GAP,’ and against your starting point, which puts you in ‘the GAIN,’ appreciating all that you’ve accomplished.” —Dan Sullivan

The gap - makes me feel like shit. The gain makes me feel great, energized and most important, energized to move forward. About, 6 months ago I hired a drawing mentor, Dynnaro You. Without him (and my supportive wife) I would not have gotten this far. You can find him at @DNYRO (Instagram), DNYRO-ARCHIVE.NOTION.SITE, DynnaroLYou@gmail.com
Dynnaro is my mentor, accountability buddy and friend all in one. Reach out to him if your stuck in your art journey.
I have also studied under Clayton Barton, he was the first to make me realize I could draw, taking his Faces class online. Find him and study with him at HowToDrawComicsAcademy.com
Clayton has created a huge library of courses, his stuff just amazing there.
A special thanks to Boris and Nirut at BKKUnZine.com for also helping me along the way in my art journey.
Finally, the last pic was fan art of a portrait by Kienan Lafferty. www.artstation.com/kienan_lafferty
